#OWSCyCon2019 Author Spotlight
As part of the build-up to OWSCyCon2019, I want to introduce you to some of the amazing volunteers and authors taking part in the event. If it wasn’t for the volunteers, there could be no CyCon, and I’m grateful to every single one of them for giving up their time to make this happen. But by the same token, without the authors taking part in the event, we wouldn’t be able to bring you the amazing events that we have planned. So without further delay…

What Genres Do You Write In?
Why don't you start by telling us a little about yourself
I’m an artist, writer, animal advocate, Photoshop junky, and fashionista. Born and raised in San Diego, California, I got spoiled by beautiful beaches and tons of sunshine. Everyone who knows me describes me in 4 words: pets, shoes, Starbucks, and vampires. I live with my 3 furbabies, Stuart, Dexter, and Morgan. Catch the reference? I loved Showtime’s Dexter, so I had to have a Dexter Morgan in the house!
Could you tell us a bit about your latest book?
The Soul Collector is an upcoming release for summer 2019
As I lay trapped inside this quiet realm,
My soul adrift, my body earthbound
A magical book guards my flight,
Though will it keep me safe till morning’s light.
Who is your intended readership?
I’d say an age range of 16 – 30, and definitely vampire and supernatural fans.
When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?
Anne Rice is my favorite author. Her book, The Interview With The Vampire, in my opinion changed how the world perceived the vampire. Her character, Lestat, is one of my favorite vampires of all time. When I’d finished the 4th book in her vampire chronicles, the 5th book wasn’t due out of a year. I couldn’t wait and the anticipation led me to create my own vampire series, Immortal Kiss.
Do you have a favorite author, or writing inspiration?
Anne Rice and Stephen King, both superstars of their genres
What advice would you give beginning writers?
Be persistent. Follow your dream and never give up.
What do you like to do when you're not writing? Any hobbies?
I love anything creative, painting, drawing, Photoshop. I’m a big TV and movie fan. I get very involved with the characters. I also love fitness. I get a workout in 5 – 6 days a week. I’m a huge animal lover and spend a lot of time with my dogs.
What’s your next project? Any upcoming book secrets you care to reveal?
After the release of The Soul Collector, I’m going to start working on The Doll, a very creepy horror book.
Finals are over, and twenty-year-old Claire Matthews can hardly wait to begin summer break until…she arrives home to an army of police swarming her parents’ front lawn. Detective Reynolds delivers the dreadful news that the man and woman inside the home are dead, and Claire is forced to identify their mummified exsanguinated bodies. Her world comes to a grinding halt when she learns that it is her mother and father who are the deceased, and her younger brother, JJ, is nowhere to be found. The predator accused…a vampire.
