Timothy Bateson Headshot 450x600

I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to my website and blog.

I’m your host, Timothy Bateson, an urban fantasy and science fiction author who broke into the short story market back in 2014. Since then I’ve appeared in several anthologies, and have started work on my first urban fantasy novel.

What makes my work interesting is that the urban fantasy setting for the “Shadows Over Seattle” series was created by my wife Sandi, and we’re co-developing the stories so that everything is interwoven. That means regardless if you start with the short stories (the “Prequels”), or the novels, you’ll be learn more about the characters you love by reading the other series.

What Do I Do When Not Writing?

Book Blogger

Books are a passion I've never been able to shake. When I became part of the independent author community it gave me a chance to help others, by introducing my blog followers to the work of some amazing authors.

Brain To Books Cyber Conventioneer

Since 2014, I've been part of the annual "Brain to Books Cyber Convention & Book Expo", which happens every April. A couple of years ago I stepped up from just being a participating author to Fantasy Genre Event Manager.
UPDATE: For 2019, I'm running this event in conjunction with Our Write Side

Bullet Journalist

With all the things I have to keep track of, my life would be a crazy mess without two things. My amazing wife (and co-creator of the "Shadows Over Seattle" setting), and my trusty Bullet Journal.

Amateur Falconer

I've had a passion for falconry ever since I was given the honor of handling my first barn owl. Since then I've been privileged to have handled and flown falcons, buzzards, hawks and even eagles.

Amateur 3D Artist

Working with Daz3D I've been able to create character models for several of the stars of the "Shadows Over Seattle" stories. I'm always looking to do more, as my skills progress.

Retail Worker

I work part-time as a cashier for one of my local grocery stores. This keeps the bills paid, and helps pay for book editing, website services, and cover art.
